Uganda-Tanzania pipeline completion set for 2020

The Uganda-Tanzania crude oil pipeline construction will be completed in 2020, Tanzania has stated.
"The pipeline will have a length of 1443 km .. and is expected to be completed in 2020," Tanzania's Ministry of Energy and Minerals noted in a statement.
The pipeline is estimated to cost US$3.5 billion, and will transport crude oil from Ugandan fields through Tanzania.
Originally, the pipeline was set to run through Kenya, but after much deliberation, Tanzania finally secured the export route.
Currently, there are three oil firms operating in Uganda: Tullow Oil, Total and CNOOC. All three companies have agreed to participate in the pipeline project, when construction is scheduled to commence in June 2017.
