Orion strengthens ties with Canada
Orion Group, the UK’s leading manpower provider to the oil and gas sector, last week sent a delegation to Canada to support ongoing business links and growth in the country.
Representatives from Orion Group visited clients in the Canadian Oil and Gas capital Calgary, to host a UK Trade & Investment event on 22nd May. Alan Savage, Chairman of Orion Group hosted an evening with Mr Tony Kay OBE, British Consulate-General, Calgary. Those attending discussed the future of Canada’s oil and gas industry as the sector responds to changing workplace requirements.
Alan Savage, said: “The markets of the Americas and Canada are worth a considerable amount to Orion Group and we have a strong presence across the region. The Group has offices in Calgary and St. John’s, with further plans to open an office in Edmonton in the coming months to cope with an increase in workforce demand. Orion Group is on hand to provide the highly skilled personnel to support opportunities in the region."
“It was exciting to host the event in Calgary, as it allowed me to hear the thoughts of those working at the heart of the industry which is so important. The market remains a priority for our business operations with US$ 170 million sales turnover in the region, which we predict to rise to over US$ 200 million, this year. “It’s an exciting time for Orion Group and we look forward to building on the progress we have made during the early part of 2014 as we continue to go from strength to strength.”
