HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline consultation

Re-scheduled consultation events for the HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline will commence on 1 October. The events were postponed in acknowledgement of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The consultation will now run until 10 November and include 9 in-person consultation events across the project area and 2 online events throughout October.
The proposals being consulted are for the UK’s first 100% hydrogen pipeline at scale and comprise the construction, operation and maintenance of up to 125 km of new pipelines that would distribute hydrogen from Vertex Hydrogen, based at Essar’s Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, to several industrial gas customers across the North West. The pipeline itself will be underground, with approximately 10 ‘hydrogen above ground installations’ (HAGIs) required along the pipeline route. Cadent, who is bringing forward the proposals, is looking to understand any views or information that can help it develop and finalise its proposals.
