The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has released its Energy Infrastructure Update for November 2014. The report notes that five natural gas pipeline projects (total length: 608.8 miles; total capacity: 2.457 billion ft3/d) were proposed in November 2014, while two were placed in service (total capacity: 350 million ft3/d).
Natural gas highlights
- Transco placed into service its Northeast Connector Project, which will provide 100 million ft3/d of capacity from its existing system in York County, PA, to an interconnection between its existing Lower NY Bay and proposed Rockaway laterals.
- Transco placed into service a portion of its Virginia Southside Expansion Project, which will provide 250 million ft3/d of mainline capacity and bi-directional flow for Virginia Power Services from NJ to NC.
- Texas Gas requested authorisation to construct and operate its Southern Indiana Market Lateral Project. This project will provide 166 million ft3/d of capacity to serve Midwest Fertiliser and SABIC Innovative Plastics in Posey County, IN.
- Transco requested authorisation to construct and operate its Hillabee Expansion Project, which will provide 1.131 billion ft3/d of capacity from Transco’s existing system in Choctaw County, AL, to the proposed Sabil Trail pipeline in Tallapoosa County, AL.
- Sabal Trail requested authorisation to construct and operate its Sabal Trail Project, which will provide 1.075 billion ft3/d of capacity from Tallapoosa County, AL, to the proposed Florida Southeast Connection in Osceola County, FL.
- Eastern Shore requested authorisation to construct and operate its White Oak Mainline Expansion Project, which will provide 45 million ft3/d of capacity to Calpine Energy to serve its proposed 309 MW power plant in Dover, DE.
