Saudi Arabian oil and gas giant Aramco has awarded an engineering and project management agreement to Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners), a Sidara Company.
The contract mandates Dar to deliver a range of consultancy services including engineering, design, project management and multidisciplinary services for Aramco's current and forthcoming infrastructure initiatives.
It stipulates a provision for a period of five years of general engineering and project management services – infrastructure (GESi), with the option to extend for up to three more years.
This agreement extends the previous GESi framework agreement that Dar signed with Aramco in 2019, further strengthening a partnership that has been in place since 1957.
Dar chairman and CEO Talal Shair said: “We are privileged to continue supporting Aramco in achieving its strategic objectives. We believe the new agreement validates and spotlights our contributions and provides us with an opportunity to continue to bring exceptional value to Aramco, leveraging the best of our expertise and capabilities, and that of all Sidara companies.”
In recent developments, Aramco awarded two contracts with a combined value of approximately US$500 million (SR1.88 billion) to Saipem last week.
The first project under Saipem's purview involves the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of a 50 km crude trunkline for the Abu Safa field.
The second contract awarded to Saipem is aimed at the production maintenance programmes for the Berri and Manifa fields.
Furthermore, Aramco recently agreed to acquire a 50% equity stake in Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Company, a subsidiary of Air Products Qudra.
This acquisition aligns with Aramco's strategy to expand its alternative energy solutions and establish a robust lower-carbon hydrogen business.
