Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG has awarded Spiecapag, a subsidiary of Entrepose (VINCI Group), the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract of three lots of onshore gas pipelines as part of the Trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP) project: one lot represents 185 km in Greece – between Kipoi and Kavala – and two lots are totalling 215 km in Albania, between Bilisht and Topoje.

With a total length of 878 km, TAP will connect to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greek- Turkish border, will cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea and connect to the Italian gas network. Once completed, the TAP project will transport gas from the Shah Deniz II gas field in Azerbaijan into Europe.

"We have begun mobilisation of our teams to allow work to start in mid 2016. We are proud to bring our customer our expertise and added value in gas pipeline construction, whatever the environment, and as always to contribute to the development of the communities where we will be working during the project," said Jean-Claude Van de Wiele, Managing Director of Spiecapag.
