Hundreds of protesters gathered over Thanksgiving to protest the proposed US$3.8 million Dakota Access Pipeline, blocking traffic at an intersection. 170 vehicles arrived at the demonstration with officers forming a line opposite the protests.

It was also reported that volunteers prepared a Thanksgiving meal for the Standing Rock protestors and local residents, following months of altercations with the police over the 1200-mile pipeline.

A letter has been sent to President Obama asking for the construction to be stopped before Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2017.
