According to local press reports, PennEast Pipeline Co. has officially started the prefiling process for its US$ 1 billion proposed natural gas pipeline project, which, if realised, will transport Marcellus gas to customers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The 100-mile, 30 in. pipeline, which will originate in Luzerne County in northeast Pennsylvania and terminate at Transco’s Trenton-Woodbury interconnection near Trenton, New Jersey, will deliver up to 1 billion ft3/d of gas.
Pat Kornick, a spokeswoman for PennEast, stated that the initial prefiling, submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on 7 October 2014, precedes a series of open houses that the company will hold. These will provide the opportunity for participants to address issues one-on-one with experts.
