Claire Fleming

Associate Director, AKE International

Claire is Associate Director with responsibility for Business Development and Corporate Communications, recently re-joining AKE International where she was previously part of the team from 2003 to 2013. From Senior Intelligence Analyst for the MENA region to Corporate Relations Manager, Claire had responsibility for the MENA region during the height of conflict in Iraq, and the 2006 Summer War between Israel and Lebanon, playing a coordinating and managing role with AKE’s operational teams and clients and liaising with the governments involved. She has briefed foreign and domestic government agencies and given oral evidence to UK parliamentary committees in connection to middle East security.

Over the interceding seven years, Claire has gained valuable experience in the oil and gas industry as Business Support Director at R2S, a digital asset management business contracting directly with global supermajors and national oil companies, and latterly as part of the central strategic communication team of parent company, FTSE 250 organisation, James Fisher plc, where she supported the businesses oil and gas companies. Claire sits as industry representative to Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) in North East Scotland where she lives, dividing her time between there and AKE’s offices globally. Claire holds an MA(Hons) in Politics & International Relations and an M.Litt in Middle East Security, both from the University of Aberdeen.
