
Kenya begins US$ 99 million oil pipeline expansion
Kenya has launched a US$ 7.8 billion shilling project to double the capacity of an oil pipeline connecting its capital and the port city of Mombasa. The project is designed to double the flowrate of petroleum products between Mombasa and Nairobi, from the present 440 000 litre/hr to 880 000 litre/hr.
Russia to complete South Stream by 2015
Russia has pledged to complete its South Stream gas pipeline by 2015 – two years behind the original schedule. The US$ 13 billion pipeline, to be laid under the Black Sea, will carry Russian natural gas to Bulgaria and Serbia before branching out to points in Western Europe.
Turkish oil pipeline repaired after fire
An oil pipeline has been repaired after a three day fire, and has resumed carrying oil from Iraq to the Mediterranean. The fire was triggered by an explosion on the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline on Friday 21st November, near the town of Midyat, 80 km from the Iraqi border.
China revives Burma pipeline plan
China has revived its plan to build oil and gas pipelines to Burma. Construction on the previously discussed pipeline plan is said to begin in 2009.

Crosstex Energy, L.P. has said the majority of its assets in Texas and Louisiana sustained minimal physical damage as a result of Hurricane Ike.
